I am trying to decide on primary school for my son. We are RC and live in St John’s Wood so st Joseph’s would be good. I don’t know anyone who goes there but heard it’s good,
I visited for the open day in November but was totally put off ! It was a very chaotic free for all sort of open day … we weren’t shown round the school or had any talks. We just had to go and chat to the teachers, the deputy head was very unenthusiastic and said ‘ it’s not a bad school ‘ which really put me off.
I decided against it but it seems like the obvious choice and have decided maybe should find out more. I called to ask if I could arrangr a visit and the receptionist just said to look on the website.
I would be keen to hear parents thoughts on the school ? Anyone have any knowledge ?

St josephs is a fantastic school! My oldest started this year and is just amazing. They do a lot of fundraising so they can afford extra things other state cant (eg extra specialised teacher for drama, PE, lower staff ratios, etc). They also do lots of trips (zoo, museums, they go frequently to forest school etc). They have lovely initiatives like older kids buddy time with the early years kids. Super strong academic results. Wrap around care is so good if both parents work. Plus many after school activities. Very nurturing environment.
They just got (q2 2024) a review by ofsted, worth a read, glowing outstanding in all areas.
