Wychwood C of E primary schools and other west Oxfordshire schools

I’m looking to move my son due to his current school not being the right fit for him.

has anyone got any recommendations? We’re looking at Wychwood c of e primary school which looks good but would love to hear if anyone has a little one in there.

My DH went there - great school. Obviously a feeder school for both Burford and Cotswolds, which is good too. I know which I’d prefer (I attended both at different points) but both are good schools. If I were local to there now then I’d gladly send my DCs to Wychwood.

Oh thank you so much! I’m really worried about the class sizes because they’d be joining half way through the school year so I don’t want them to feel alienated or overwhelmed. Hopefully the teachers step in to get them included.

What is it about current school that doesn’t work for your son? They will scoop him up and lots of experienced staff there to help him integrate but that would be harder if you don’t live in the area as there is a lot of going to the park after school on an ad hoc basis & back & forth from houses. Kingham, Great Tew & Combe are top 3 in my opinion. If you live in catchment for WW why didn’t you choose it in the first instance? If your DS is likely to go onto Burford & hasn’t settled where he is making lots of friends that will also move up will help.

Do your kids attend the school by any chance? It’s a small school so only one class with v disruptive kids and school communication isn’t great. Seems to be struggling with bullying.

We don’t leave that close but we both work so they’ll be in the afterschool and morning clubs.
