Hi everyone,

My daughter has been invited to the second stage of the admission process, the group problem solving activity. Does anyone know what this exercise at LEH exactly entails? If your daughter has been through this exercise or if you are otherwise aware of the details and could please share this information with me that will be very helpful indeed.

Thanks all

There’s not really much, if anything, you can prepare for (hooray?! or I thought so last year!) It’s a series of activities in groups lead by teachers - some solved by the group and some individually. A mixture of practical and following instructions etc. Best of luck!

My daughter has been invited back too! Good luck. When is your assessment day? My DD goes in on Thursday

Anyone heard back on results yet?

I don’t think the website says until end of Jan? They often send out on a Friday and it’s by post but I’d imagine next weekend….:

We got an email saying letters were posted out today 🤞

Hi, My daughter received her offer letter today. Wasn't expecting to hear so soon- was a lovely surprise. Anyone else?

Hi there, could anyone on this post let me know what sort of things are looked at? Problem solving exercises seem so vague- is it maths or puzzles etc or can anyone give me an example of one similar. My sister's child (but I am helping her as English is not her first language) is listed for the Y6 recall back for assessment but her DD spent quite a few years abroad in schooling where problem solving is considered maths questions eg. I buy 6 books foe 2 pounds each, how much change do I get back- that sort of thing. Is that what it means- as we are trying to prepare her for exams but it doesn't seem like any specific preparation is really needed for this one. Am I right in thinking that?

@Tigermummy123321 , firstly you should move to the 11plus thread in secondary education and someone will be able to help you.
Secondly, my dd didn't do LEH but my ds had a Hampton interview and they were shown a painting and asked to describe what they saw. (It was a painting for testing not a famous 1). These tests are designed to find out what type of person the dc is and how they think. The LEH second stage is quite tricky and a large percentage are rejected so it's important your dn knows going into the exam that they are looking for certain types of personality and if you aren't quite right then it's not the right school for the dn. Well done for getting this far.

The supervising teachers are looking for signs that the girls are able to work well with each other, to bring their own ideas to the group problem solving, not just to coast along and let some very bright girl get the answer right. The process is important, in other words.

@Pinkfleur would you kindly share ur experience at leh so far?

hi everyone, my daughter was invited this year and we are very keen to know what the interview was like. Any insight you can share would be very helpful please. If you (your daughter) can remember the types of questions that were asked that would be amazing. Thanks a million.
