Hi everyone,

I’m a bit worried about finding a school for my DS for this Sep as I already researched and applied for schools and waiting to hear on 19th but due to circumstances I have to find somewhere else to live asap and most likely will be in a different part of London/borough. I know which borough but I don’t have a place yet. I’m really distressed and just not sure what to do. I had everything planned out. He’s needing speech and language therapy and I need him to start like everyone else so that he’s not behind.

What would you do in my case?

Try not to panic too much. There is always some movement in London and in more central boroughs particularly there has been a drop in applications with people leaving London.

I would concentrate on finding somewhere to live. Once you have this, you can speak with the LA about making a late application and going on waiting lists as needed. You can of course do this without an address, but you will probably be lower down the admissions criteria and so have less chance of a place.

Nothing

Or at least not yet.

Wait and see what school you are allocated. It's way too close to be changing your application now and even if you did, it would be fruitless as you don't yet know where you are going.

Concentrate on arranging where you will be living next. If it is travelling distance to your allocated school, then it all becomes a non-issue. If it really isn't, then you will have to make a new application, but for that you will need your new address.
