Feedback or any info on Rosemead Prep and Oakfield Prep (West Dulwich)?

We recently moved to West Dulwich and are considering either Rosemead Prep or Oakfield Prep for my 3 year old daughter.

From my (little) understanding and judging only by the leavers information in each school's website, Rosemead seem to get more offers to the super competitive Dulwich schools... but I wonder what are the 'deeper' differences between the schools! Oakfield has an amazing outdoor area, but not sure how much that should matter in the grand scheme of things....

Anyway, I'm confused and on a deadline to make a decision, I would greatly appreciate any insights! Thank you!

Much of a muchness. Oakfield used to be for those who didn't get into any of the other preps, but that's changed in the last few years I think.

Yes newish head at Oakfield, it could be one to watch over coming years. Agree it tends to be for those who missed out. Rosemead has better leavers destinations, but outside space is poor.

I honestly don't know why you would consider either of these schools, when the state primary schools nearby are all excellent. Anyway, kids seem happy and engaged at both. Oakfield is not academically selective, so naturally will have a wider range of children and destinations.

Thanks everyone.

@RicStar I'm only in the catchment of Dulwich Wood Primary School and I have had some not so great feedback from mums in the area. If we were a bit further down we'd be in the Paxton Catchment and I've had good feedback from it so would be more comfortable there. I'm still going to apply and see if we get there but I'm thinking of my options in private education too, in which case my daughter would start now at nursery and carry on there...

@Akoulina
My daughter is at Rosemead and we are very happy. The most nurturing school in Dulwich. PM if you have any questions.

Oakfield Prep is a brilliant school with fantastic destinations from what I have heard. I believe Paxton's recently got a very poor inspection report. Best of luck with your search.
