I'm interested to find out more about Vita et Pax school in Oakwood, north London. I am looking to send my children to a small, nurturing co Ed school and that area is near me. I don't know anyone with children there though.

I have 2 children there at the moment, very happy with it.
It is a small school with a real community feel. The children are really treated as individuals and encouraged to build their confidence in all areas. Feel free to ask any specific questions.

Thank you! I'm so pleased your children are happy.
I would love to know:

What is the average class size? I was told on the phone they are expecting only 7-10 for reception this year but classes are bigger than that? That seems very low. I'm even thinking my child won't have many choices of friends!

Is there a lot of homework eg in the infants? I don't want a pushy school

I haven't seen the school yet. Do they good facilities?

Can children have packed lunch if they want ? I have a v fussy eater.

Do they deal well with bullying?

Do parents in classes mix much? Is it friendly?

Class sizes tend to get bigger as they go through the school, and in the younger years they socialise among year groups so plenty of friends. Lots of friendly parents also!

Homework is appropriate and from what I remember limited in the early years.

Facilities are good for a small school. Recently refurbished playground with more planned.

I haven't actually had or heard of any examples of bullying so can't comment. But more generally the pastoral support is excellent, new children are well integrated and supported by their peers and staff.

Hope that helps, definitely book a tour and see for yourself.

Hi I'm back again! Can I ask is there a particular school that most children go on to?

Pupils from Vita et Pax go to a range of schools, some grammar, some state, some private. I will miss the school greatly when we leave. My children are so happy there. The teachers are brilliant. Definitely go see the school. It’s such a nurturing environment.

HI! If you are looking for a small school with a real community feeling, where all the kids in the school know each other by name and are very well behaved, where there is pastoral care and no bullying is tolerated, where kids are pushed to realise their potential and are not just a name on the register for the teachers, I think that Vita is the right place for you. My daughter went from nursery to yr6 in Vita and I have never ever heard her saying Mummy I don't want to go to school today. For me, this means everything! Take care
