Has anybody turned down a primary school offer and what happened??

I'm planning on declining my sons primary school offer as I'm really not happy with it. It wasn't one of our five choices. I was wondering has anybody turned down a school offer and if so what came of it? My son will be the youngest and only turns 4 at the end of august, I'm pretty sure it's not even a legal requirement for kids to be in school until 5 years old? Or maybe I have that wrong x

Accept the school

This gives you breathing space. You don't need to send him until Easter.

However, unless you think the school will be positively detrimental to him, I'd send him from Sept even if you aren't keen on it long term as he'll still learn some phonics etc. Then you can move him as and when a place frees up elsewhere.

I would send him and keep applying for places at your preferred school. I wouldn't keep him at home. To be honest, I'm not sure how awful an infants school can be? My children have been at 'Good' rated schools which have then been rated inadequate after they have been there for a short while.

Thank you for all your comments. The school has a very high turnover and children tend to leave there after a couple years. I understand it's only a primary school and some people probably think I'm being silly but it's my child and as a mother all I want is the best for my child and to give him the best possible start.
