do you have school cake sales? are they attended by something that resembles a cross between a swarm of locusts and a hard of elephants?

or are they civilised affairs involving queues, pleases and thankyous and no, after yous? there seems to be an awful lot of unseemly grabbing at ours. pushy kids (with too much money or parents who lack a sense of proportion) walk away with mountains. kids who helped the teacher tidy up, or who are just quiet or slow get the un-iced fairy cakes - if they're lucky (whoever thought they were a good idea? but that's another thread...)I know they're kids. and in fact they are actually all nice kids and they do remember their pleases and thankyous, and I have no idea what else it could look like. but I just wondered if every school is the same and if anyone else finds it all a bit, I don;t know, too much?

Lol at typo

Yes it's pretty much the same at DSs school, except that we sell to the children only.

It is one heck of a scrum.

They all gabble 'thankyou' like this 'mfwfff pfhhh' crumbs everywhere.

Complete scrum at ours - they had to change from just setting up a couple of tables to doing it through the hatch into the school kitchens, because the people selling, behind the tables, would gradually get squashed as the herd of elephants children gradually pushed the tables further and further back.
