Open days/evenings for year 6s going up to secondary school next year

Has anyone heard what their local secondary schools are doing about open days/evenings? In June we were given a date for our catchment school's open evening in a couple of weeks. Not heard anything yet about it not happening.... I find it hard to imagine though how they will be able to have hundreds of people from dozens of different primary schools in one place.

I've looked on the schools' websites and it's a mix. A couple have cancelled all open events - of these, one or two have uploaded virtual tours onto their websites. A couple have tentative dates but won't confirm yet whether they're going ahead. One is doing daily tours but only for a couple of families at a time, so they're massively oversubscribed. I'm resigned to the possibility of not being able to visit any schools before the deadline. It's a shame, but it is what it is. Luckily it's our second time around, so we've seen most of them before, but it's hard on our DS, who hasn't.

We’re going to make videos of each department and put them online for parents.

My child is going into year 8,even I'm not allowed on the school site. I carnt see open days being possible at all due to the risk to current students and teachers.

Just had the letter to say it will be a virtual open day.

My school is making a virtual tour video. Unfortunately they can't do much more. They're heavily limiting any visitors to the site at all times, (including cancelling after-hours let's) so it's not appropriate to have hordes of people crowding to tour the building of an evening and would mean that the cleaners couldn't do their job.
I might expect a private school to be slightly more flexible though?

I can't imagine any school would pass an open evening off on their risk assessment now. Hundreds of people in close proximity. My dd is year 6. Really wish I'd done it last year now!
