She says no masks for children at all without a medical reason and a doctor's note Hmm

She says the Dfe are v clear about masks in primary - but I think it's an arbitrary rule based on age, not physiology . My Y6 dd is as tall as me and so are a couple of her friends!

That sounds like a good idea, healthy children definitely don't need them xx

Since many children are asymptomatic how do you distinguish the healthy from those with COVID ?

How on earth can you know if teachers at your child's school were previously shielding?! I didn't know my new, 22 year old colleague was until just before she caught covid from her Y2 class. This is a small school where I imagine parents feel like they know all the teachers' individual circumstances.

am a teacher in primary school in Portugal. By law, all teachers (in al Key Stages) have had to wear masks at ALL TIMES in school since June when EYFS and Ks1 came back. Since September all children from age 10 up must wear them in all public places - including in the classroom. Yes, it’s hard to teach this way but I’d rather this than being hooked up to a ventilator. Our 10+ pupils are amazing with masks; no complaints at all. They just get on with it. I find it madness that the same isn’t happening in the UK. Kids are far more resilient than we think. Mask up all.
