The first week I shouted.

The second week I reminded x 100.

The third week I explained that I would not be responsible for it, read out the school policy (detention if not handed in-horrors for dd1), and left dd to take the consequences. She's in yr 3, just turned 7 in August and away with the fairies some of the time (naturally enough).

Her teacher held hers up in class yesterday as an example of how to do it, she told me! (a specific design, maths sheet and reading book record)

DH and I will drop everything if she needs help getting it going, but we don't tell her the answers (if perchance we know them ). I have ordered her a diary that she requested to help keep track of things at school.

Poor kid.

detention is a bit much isn't it? It worked on dd, but it would, she's that sort, and doesn't need that treatment.

Mild mannered Janitor, like the idea of the writing to say why in the homework book, will keep that one up my sleeve!
