child leaving after Year 3 (not staying till year6) - ideas for a photobook

my DS is leaving at the end of thi year, going to another school, so I am looking for ideas to create his photobook from school from years so far, I looked at my photos on computer - there are probably about 15 photos from school year, i did not keep a good track of school photos. If a lockdown finishes, I could try to make more photos with his friend in school... what woudl you suggest - what woudl be nice for his memory?

DDs school closed last summer. Classes did different things. DD2s had a nice photo of them all, they all signed around the edge, and they put them all in frames.

Having moved schools twice now... Neither child remembers any of the kids they went to the first school with (left at 4&6). The last summer, they remember their close friends. They have photos on the wall, and memory books the schools gave, but they are more interested in their new friends.

In the current circumstances, where he might not go back to the old school at all now, I think it might be better just to let it go at this point. He has already been away from the school for a month. Kids move on so much faster than adults and if he doesn't see his old friends for months, then you give him a photo book of them, then he starts a new school, it might just confuse and upset him. Has he kept in touch with his friends while school has been closed?

Could you ask on the WhatsApp for people to share photos of the kids from the class? (maybe also a message from each child).

if they go back, I could buy a large card, can I ask the teacher to pass the card to each child to sign or do i need to pass it myself to parents?

Teachers are normally happy enough to get a card signed (though there may be circumstances eg. child on child protection plan that may mean it's not possible for the specific class). PP is right though that you'll probably find that the child quickly moves on and doesn't look back to the card for long. It's a nice thing for the transition if you can do it, but don't stress if it's not possible.
