My daughter is starting reception in september, i've been rather prematurely looking at name labels today and I had no idea there were so many options! What's best? Stickers, sew on or iron? Are some brands better than others? What do you use?

I want something that can withstand washing, can't just be peeled off by my 4 year old but also not too difficult to remove as I'm hoping most of it will be in good enough condition to hand down to sibling.

my vote goes to the iron-on option that is the letters only, not a rectangle of tape that can peel off. like this

they are brilliant because each individual letter fuses to the fabric so they just never come off (any iron-on with a background is doomed to fail sooner or later) and astonishingly quick to apply compared to sewing.

Sew in is best imo. Looks nicer too

Stick or iron on and add
Your phone number.

Back packs. Coats etc. actually make it back to you when left in parks etc.

Stamp for white shirts etc.

Always name on the collar. It's the only place that people look in lost property. Biro on the labels fades.

Never. Ever. Ever. Send anything to school unnamed that you are not prepared to lose.
It staggers me the number of brand new items that we find unnamed and are unable to return.

I have tried several makes and the best I have found are petit ferdinand they come in a little booklet. I put our sur name and my mob no on them with a very bright background so if ever they get lost or their stuff does it can be returned to me 😁
