Anyone else's DS sit the exam last week and, if so, how did they find it? DS found it pretty tough so not holding out much hope. Letter says we will hear by Friday 10th. Does that mean we might hear beforehand?

Knitology, did you hear back? It was a no for us. A friend whose son sat it a few years ago said there are a number of prep schools that feed into it and City takes largely from them. Apparently they do nothing but exam prep for months before. Guessing DS didn't have much of a chance!

Heard back on Friday. He was offered an interview, so we will proceed to this next hurdle. With regards to the preparation, yes I was sitting with him for at least 3 hours a week working through exercises, past question papers and creative writing. It was all consuming! The wholes experience was invaluable as it highlighted the “gaps” in state education and what we as parents are up against. All I can say, is I am glad I only have one child. I couldn’t go through this again.
