Hello Everyone, my son is writing 7+ exams for Westminster, St.Pauls and KCS this year.
My son is preparing for a while now and struggling in English a lot as of now.
Could someone please provide me more insights on the interview and activity tasks that the kids are asked to participate in and how to ace those bits? How could I prepare my son for these bits?
Thanks a lot.

One of our friend whose son was on waitlist for King's, contacted them today and spoke to Admissions office. Apparently, no one on the waitlist has been offered as King's gave more offers and seats have been filled.

Not sure if anyone else has heard otherwise. Please call KCS and advise updates

I also called them this morning and can confirm that there has been no movement in the reserve list at KCS. Looks like we will have to go again at 8+.
All the best everyone and wish your sons all a great start in Sep!

organiccoffee · 31/01/2020 14:11

It looks like KCS has really over offered by considerable margin. I knew personally quite a few families have made their decisions in the last two days.

Tingting01 · 02/02/2020 22:32

Does anyone know if WUS waitlist has moved at all?

icantbelievethis001 · 03/02/2020 13:41

@Tingting01 - If there's movement in WUS waitlist it will probably be minimal since we were told by our current school that WUS contacted them to confirm that WUS is 1st choice for those DS. Can only interpret that to mean that they would only offer to those that are likely to be accepted. This was also reinforced in the interview invite email. I guess they are wanting to to avoid offers being turned down in favour of KCS and SPJ. Would be interested to hear if this is actually is the case and whether anyone got offered when WUS was not first choice whilst holding offer already from 1st choice school. Also depends if they over offer or not as well? Good luck

Lolakath19 · 04/02/2020 22:21

Do you know when is the deadline to accept wus offer?

organiccoffee · 04/02/2020 22:29

All three schools have the same deadline of 30/Jan. So it's probably all finalised by now.

Lolakath19 · 04/02/2020 22:39

So we should see website from updated soon. What about 8+ ? Was the deadline the same?

Tingting01 · 12/02/2020 16:18

It seems that there has been zero movement in the WUS waitlist for both 7+ and 8+ plus - I think this is pretty much the case as in previous years too. No one (or v few) would turn down an offer!

icantbelievethis001 · 18/04/2020 16:03

Anyone know whether any places may be forfeited because of covid? We had calls from schools (not WUS, SPJ or KCS) that we had rejected in last week to ask us to confirm that we really don't want the place, despite deadline being 2 months ago. No reason was given by registrar other than to have one final check.

Utts · 14/05/2020 10:54

Keen to know the impact of COVID as well. KCJS maintain “no update to the waitlist” response. It’s all so frustrating!

randomer · 14/05/2020 10:57

What are these schools offering which attracts you so much?

VeryWorriedParents19 · 14/11/2020 14:24

Anyone doing 7+ for these schools this month?

Ps1054 · 15/11/2020 10:27

Good Luck to all who wrote the 8+ / 7+ this year .. was a miserable day .. but the turnout was huge !

FriendlyMom · 15/11/2020 12:57

I wonder why this thread is so inactive compared to the years before?! If the turnout at Kings was huge, there must be a lot of anxious mums. Feels like there is “distancing” even online Confused

Ps1054 · 15/11/2020 15:20

Smile true very surprising..

Heist · 15/11/2020 17:48

Good luck to everyone who wrote 7+ and 8+ at KCS yesterday. Next 10 days will be an anxious wait. Hang in there, it will be all worth it :)

St Paul’s exam is in 10 days too! The countdown for that one has started. So nerve wrecking!

Lolakath19 · 15/11/2020 18:26

When was St Paul? Is Westminster in January?

FriendlyMom · 15/11/2020 18:32

St Payl’s coming up - Nov 28! It’s an odd time - we know two weeks are left and it’s a relief the exam is finally coming but also panicking what to do in those two weeks! Such an odd feeling. Westminister is in January.

icantbelievethis001 · 15/11/2020 21:25

Good luck to all those DS and mums who are going through the process, especially with Covid. I've just about recovered from last year! Smile

Follicularchallenge · 16/11/2020 14:38

I couldn't tell the turnout at all as was so wrapped up with mask/coat and rushing out of the rain, but it seemed huge to you? I now wonder why I even got involved - it seems to be an impossible task, particularly with no interview or assessment day this year...

Lolakath19 · 16/11/2020 14:55

What does the exam consisted of? Was it consistent to previous years?

TypsTrycks · 16/11/2020 15:13

Purely second hand information, but I heard the parent crowd at KCS was much much smaller than last year's. Around 150 students was my friend's guess.

The exam format seemed to be the same as last year. Maths, reasoning, comprehension and two short composition pieces.

Ps1054 · 16/11/2020 16:46

Cannot comment on 7+ ..DS wrote 8+ , They were split into groups with 10-15 kids in each group. And the group numbers ranged from 20-45.. so on an average about 350 kids. It felt like more than normal for 8+..where the intake is about 12 kids 🙂
