Hello,
Can anyone give any information on either either our lady of victories (olov) in south ken or st Joseph’s in Maida Vale - I think they are both fairly similar?!

On paper they are indeed very similar, both in intake and results. But they are quite a distance from each other; if you've visited both and are finding it hard to choose between them, I'd suggest putting the one closer to you/ with the easier journey first. Seven years is a long time to be traipsing across London to primary school, and there's a huge amount to be said for being close to school at this level as parents are so involved at primary and you'd be taking your DC to and from friends' houses, parties etc. Both have pretty tight catchment areas so that would indicate the vast majority of other pupils will live very close to the school (if you'll excuse my stating the obvious here!)

I know nothing about Our Lady, but know someone with a child at St Joseph’s and I’m relieved my kids aren’t there. It seems very pressured/competitive and the fundraising is absurd.

Thanks! We are currently in Kensington and within the catchment for OLOV but we are considering moving to MV area to get a larger property and looking at the schools and if worth it. I can’t find anything online on OLOV but lots on st Joseph’s!
