Looking for advice on North Bridge Senior School & other N. london Schools

Hello we are a family with a girl starting year 10 and a boy going into sixth form in September relocating to London from HK and finding the school issue very overwhelming. We would like to settle in N. London, but as we won't move until July, I don't think we can run the risk of getting shut out of a good state school, so we are beginning to loot at Independent schools

I saw an old threat about North Bridge, but anyone have an recent impressions of the sixth form school.

Any other suggestions for schools we could look at in N. London. We would consider living around Muswell Hill somewhere, but it will depend where we can get i the kids in school. Happy with a girls school for my daughter, but prefer co-ed for my son.

It might be best if you ask MNHQ to move this to secondry education rather than primary education.

Sorry posted too soon, ask Mumsnet to move to Secondary but you may need help from an education specialist as both these entry points are dependent on the ability of your dc. Many schools now start GCSE's in Year 9 but less so in the private sector. Start ringing round the schools you are interested in this week, most close for Christmas next Friday 14th.

I have not heard of North Bridge. It is probably going to be a good idea to sit exams at a range of schools e.g. 5 of them to see which ones they pass for as it is more the schools choose the child than vice versa. Eg if they are both bright hten could try for st paul's boys and st paul's girls. Girl could try for North London Collegiate (here my daughter went) but it just depends on what ability range they are as to which are the best ones for them to try to get into.

What sort of school background have they had so far? British style or international/American style?
