What age should boys/girls not change together for PE?

DD is in Year 5 and just asked me to buy her some vests because when she changes for PE the boys stare at her

I really was surprised as presumed they changed separately.

Is this common across the board for this age?

Thanks

ds is in Y4 and has just informed me that they have been split up since just before Easter

When I was at school we started having changing rooms when we went into middle school - so Y5.

our year 6's still get changed together, Last year my DD in yr 6 used to get changed under the desk!

dd1 complains about the boys now and she is 7 I thought they would be split at the juniors.Public changing rooms usually say age 7/8

Our school splits them for changing from year 3.

Dd1's class were changing separately from Y3 onwards, but they had (a) some very very silly but quite over-sexualised children (b) some physically quite developed girls and (c) a male teacher for Y3 and 4.

Ds is in Y3 and says they all change in the classroom together.

I'm pretty unprissy about nudity and bodies in general, but I think by Y4 they should be changing separately. It only takes one silly child to make a stupid comment for some other child feel lastingly embarrassed and self-conscious about their body.

I find this to be a real anomoly. If a child changes for PE at school there is no regulation.

If they are taking part in a performance at a theatre then once they are 5 years old boys and girls have to have separate dressing rooms by law.
