We are in the process of applying for primary schools and as someone who didn't go to school in the UK I'm struggling to get a feel for primary schools in the area inspite of school visits. I'd appreciate any feedback on these three in particular as they are on my shortlist.
John Betts : I can hardly find any information on JB. All I can gather is the school is heavily oversubscribed & the catchment is tweeny - but what is it really like?
I would like to understand if it is living up to its Outstanding reputation - the Ofted report is from yonks ago and the headteacher has changed since. If it were to be reviewed today what would the results be?
- I pass it each morning and the kids and parents seem happy, but I haven't gleaned much about staff/headteacher and as its a tiny school I'd like to understand more.
Brackenbury - Same questions really, except also as the school is much bigger do the kids get individual attention?
Greenside - Is it in the same league as the other two? Someone mentioned a greater focus on arts/threatre - is that to the detriment of science/math/discipline.
I'm mostly interested in a primary school that builds enthusiasm for learning and knowledge and provides an all rounded foundation.
Thanks for any guidance/help,
A struggling newbie..
