Islington Primaries: One child in Canonbury, another in William Tyndale

We're moving to London and it's looking like we might okay for in year places in the Canonbury and William Tyndale schools for September. Right now, neither school can accommodate both children, but of course that might change between now and September.

Does anyone have any experience of having one child in each school? They're only a 4 minute walk apart, so staggered drop-offs aren't the end of the world. And there is the advantage that I'll have a bigger circle of school parents to make friends with, as we're new to London!

I know the area well and a 4 minute walk is rather optimistic, especially with a school child in tow!

Once a child is enrolled, you will have sibling priority for the other one, so would hopefully get a place quickly especially as London schools tend to have quite a bit of movement.

Logistically having 2 different schools is a pain, and needing to trot from one to the other constantly could mean you wouldn't get much of a chance to get to know parents at either school.

Are there any schools that can arexcomodate both?

Get a cargo bike, it'll make all the difference.
Or look at one of the other schools - Rotherfield? St Judes?

Hi, I doubt anyone will be along with the exact same predicament as yours, as I'd expect them to get places for both kids at one school pretty quickly, as I think you will.

Both schools have breakfast and after school clubs, so you could enrol each kid in one of those and stagger drop-offs and pickups.

I think the school day at William Tyndale may end earlier than Canonbury which may work in your favour.

They're both good so I wouldn't look at other schools personally.

Thank you - it's such a niche question to have, and I really appreciate the answers!
