Anyone else sending their DC to school dressed up as favourite book character on thursday for world book day? My inclination is to keep it simple but wondered if a bit of effort would be expected?

I went as Christopher Robin when I was about 5 yrs old, and lets draw a veil over the time my mother dressed me as a windmill...

Blu/Bozza my ds is determined to go as Willy Wonka. I'm pushing for Charlie Bucket but he's not having it......

Bozza the homemade top hat with sweets on it sounds fab. We will deffo do that. Shirt and trousers we can do, I'll get a bow tie. But he wants a purple jacket.......help!!!!!!!

I have to admit I skipped the purple jacket bit. Was it a cloak or a jacket because a cloak would be easy, just a square of material with string/elastic threaded through one end. DH made the hat in the end, we still have it but due to the size of DS's head it would probably come down over your Ds's eyes. The cane eventually got destroyed - no surprise.
