If your child wears a polo shirt and sweatshirt to school...

...out of pure curiosity, how many of each do you have?

DD does five afternoons in the school nursery class. We bought three polos and two sweatshirts but I'm noticing that I'm having to wash one or both items most days as they get dirty. I don't mind but wonder if I wildly underestimated how many items she would need, or if I just have an unusually messy child...

6 polos each
DS had 3 jumpers
DD has 2 cardigans and 3 old jumpers of DS's.

At least one jumper or cardy is always lost.

2sweatshirts and 3 polos is in P3 (Y2 in England) mostly just wash them all on Friday occasionally have needed a mid week wash after a paint incident, in summer early autumn wears gingham dress had 3 which would also a week.

6 polos and 3 jumpers each. Polos get turned into dusters at the end of each school year.

Ahh I see my eldest two dd's had shirts and tie and badges cardigans. I much preferred them to the imho scruffy polo tops dd3 wears.

I thought schools couldn't insist on logo uniform being worn. 🤔 In reception we have 1 logo jumper and polo then 2 generic jumpers and 4 generic polo. 2 pairs of trousers (not enough) and 2 shorts.

Clean polo shirt each day, as ds in now 10 and armpits can become stinky at the end of the day. Two school jumpers.

Mymouthgetsmeintrouble · 24/10/2016 08:29

About 10 polos and 5 jumpers , extra polos because they wear out quicker

Poocatcherchampion · 24/10/2016 08:35

3 polos and one cardi.

I'm washing the cardi now for half term!!! She has hardly worn it.

My dd in reception is clean! Sometimes I push a polo through another day by choosing a pinafore instead of a skirt.

I do havd more polos but havent got them out yet.

Lndnmummy · 24/10/2016 11:32

I am doing 6 of each, one for each day and one set as spares in his rucksacks. Sadly both polos and jumpers are already stained with marker pens that refuse to come out. I bought lovely M&S polos but as they got ruined in the first week by these black pens that wont wash out I am sticking with Tesco/Asda from now on.

MrsHathaway · 24/10/2016 12:49

Our school insists on logo jumpers/cardigans but polos can be plain.

In Reception mine had about 10-12 polos of which maybe two or three had logos. Two jumpers (increased to three).

It's already much better in Year One. Meanwhile DS1 in Y4 can wear one jumper all week.

6 polos (as they come in packs of two) and 4 jumpers. They often leave them at school and I hate rushing round in a flap looking for clean uniform.

GrinchyMcGrincherson · 24/10/2016 13:04

I have 6 polos per child (as they come in packs of 2) as they are the it that gets marked and/or sweaty so I change each day. As we have little other whites washing it's easier just to throw them all in together at the end of the week. Eldest has 6 shirts for same reason.

I have 2 jumpers per child (wash one, wear one is fine for these as I do a darks load most days and the older two tend to get 2-3 days from a jumper)

I have 3 pairs trousers for DD (which usually last the week) and 2 skirts for eldest (as high school they are crazy expensive so we do wash and wear) but 6 for DS (now 5 as he already went through the knees of one pair)

smellyboot · 24/10/2016 14:16

6 of each so if we are busy at weekend and forget to put uniform wash on I can survive. We actually have about 15 polos between two of them as we get hand me downs. Everyone uses supermarkets stuff as well as logo at our school. Much less messy in yr2 upwards though

OatcakeCravings · 24/10/2016 14:22

I have 5 jumpers, 10 polos and 5 pairs of trousers
