West Sussex school funding/ 4 day week?

Hi All,

I read somewhere that the schools in West Sussex were so badly underfunded that they may need to reduce to a 4 day school week.

I'm planning a move to East Grinstead so wondered if anyone knew if this was really the case.
Even if not, do you feel that schooling in West Sussex is generally not as well funded or run as other boroughs?
I'm currently in Croydon where I'm guessing the schools are probably well funded due to the over population and so many having been 'requires improvement' for so long.

Any insights would be gratefully received... x

There are more than 20 LAs that receive lower funding per pupil than West Sussex. Croydon is almost bang on the national average.

The threat to move to a 4 day school week is an empty threat. They cannot legally do so unless they reduce school holidays substantially, which would make the whole thing pointless.

Oh great, thanks so much for replying. I was hoping that would be the case.
