Hi,
I read that at Haberdashers they have 25 children in a class. Which seems a little high for an independent school. Does anyone know how many teaching assistants the class has?

Why don't you go for a visit and ask? Always better to see a school for outsell and ask the questions you want answered. Personally I
Like classes with 20 or 24.

I did go. Its a nice school, but I dont remember what they said about the number of teachers and assistants in a class.

I went to South Hampstead (on a full scholarship), which I believe is a similar type of school, and I remember the class sizes as being around 25-26. I think that's fine.

Did you happen to ask how many teachers and assitants there were there per class? I believe teacher to child ratio is an important factor when looking for a school.

Habs girls infants 22 in a class, going down to 20 now they have a dual intake from reception. One teacher and one TA per class reception and year 1, year 2 the TA is shared between the two classes. They also have a floating infant teacher to cover absences. Habs boy infants 18 per class, don't know about staffing levels.
