NEWTON PREP in BATTERSEA - any mums send their kids there?

My daughter is 3 and we will be visiting the school in Jan to see if she can get a place for the nursery in Sept. with a view of going there for primary school.
Do any mumsnetters send their kids there and if yes, any feedback would be great.
Without wanting to sound like i'm boasting or anything, we think DD is advanced, particularly in her language - absolutely completely sentences, pronounces words like "responsibility", plays with laptops, recognises numbers and letters (counts to about 20), generally confident. Always asking about when she can go to big school and all that....

We sent DS1 there (nursery) for half a term; we moved house between getting the place and his start date, and so he went to Newton Prep while we found a more local place. I have to say he didn't like it, but we have friends whose DD goes there and loves it.

It is very academic and structured compared to the good state nursery school DS1 is at now. In NP nursery children are in teaching groups according to age - the September-born kids mainly working with one classroom assistant, the January kids with another and the summer babies with the third. DS1 is Really Not Interested in learning to write his name, and Newton Prep Really Wanted to teach him how to. I think that sort of thing is partly why he wasn't happy there.

The other mums I met were all very nice, my nanny found it easy to sort out playdates. I thought DS1's classroom assistant knew her charges fairly well. If your DD will be happy in an academic sort of place and you want to ask someone with more positive experiences I might be able to track down the e mail address of the PTA rep.

Gordon Ramsay does/did - you could ask him...I'm sure he'd give you a polite answer...

We looked round it yonks ago, but never took it further, so can't give you any feedback, sorry. Let's see if Tana Ramsay comes on MN

thanks for the feedback.
I will be visiting at the end of Jan and then i think she will have a chat with them in early Feb - i think with most of these things, i will have to trust my gut instinct but it's all still v. nerve wracking!
