Hiring a nanny just for school runs (morning + afternoon)

SKLily · 07/01/2016 17:40

I simply can't get the hang of morning school runs. The little one isn't that troublesome these days about getting his clothes sorted and on + shower and brushing his teeth has become a breeze. The problem is I wake up in the morning and simply can't get myself together. No number of espressos can help me and most recently I made us late by losing my phone. Where was it? In the cat food bowl when I thought I had given the cat food... Instead I gave her my phone. As a new mum I'm thinking that since our son isn't too much of a handful these days maybe getting someone in is the answer?

Does anyone else have someone to help with 9am morning school runs? How much do they help out? Do they get your little one ready too?

Is the truth that you ARE 21 as you originally said? ('Typo' didn't really make sense if you were trying to type 22, which is same key twice)

MaudGonneMad · 07/01/2016 20:42

OP didn't used to sleep from 11pm-1pm, what she posted was:

Previously (before kids) I would wake up around 11am-1pm.

fidel1ne · 07/01/2016 20:42

Also, those cajoling me into sharing more about myself just so they can mock/insult or just sit their with their mouth open are more childish than my son. What do you want here?

Don't be such a dick.

Asking for clarification on ages/dates is giving you a chance to squash the scepticism you are attracting by giving numbers that don't add up.

Figwin · 07/01/2016 20:44

The maths doesn't work... 18 when pregnant so say you turned 19 the next day of conception, had baby at 19 and 9 months (generous even though prem) now 2.5 would make you 22 and 3 months. Just 22. Not turning 23 tomorrow

Oswin · 07/01/2016 20:44

Didn't op say she married at 18 not had ds?
Op I would go to the doctors and ask for a proper check up, with blood tests.
I was the same as you for years everyone thought I was just lazy. I'm 24 And can't get out of bed, even if I get lots of sleep I still struggle.
I've now been referred to the hospital finally because it's not normal.
Do you have good health in general? No pain or illness?

RudeElf · 07/01/2016 20:44

Rude elf, our son who is 2.5 was 2 weeks early. I just had a daughter who is 4 months.

So which one was born when you were 18?

MaudGonneMad · 07/01/2016 20:47

No, Oswin, the OP replied that she was '18, actually' when a PP posted that a 17yo had a baby with a 32yo.

SKLily · 07/01/2016 20:47

I was married at 18 and conceived at 19

Mouldy said;

17 year old has baby with 32 year old man....and then another one...
Needs to spend £19k on childcare as not Wake in mornings and to do extra gym class.

OP replied;

Mouldy: I was actually 18. Of legal age I might add.

So she was confirming she had first child at 18.

I suspect she's dug herself into this hole covering up actual current age of 21.

But I CBA to try and help her out of said hole any more because she's a rude tantrummy cahhh (albeit probably one with a thyroid issue).

Greenleave · 07/01/2016 20:50

Rude: if you really really want to know then reread her comments. She said she got married when she was over 18yrs old

Regarding to prep school. I thought the earliest age is 3, apparently I was wrong. So some private prep started earlier than 3, then whats the earliest? My question is genuine as I think it might not cost so much more having a part time nanny and the baby could be at a nice prep

MaudGonneMad · 07/01/2016 20:51

No she didn't Greenleave, originally she said she had her first baby at 18. Then when it was pointed out that none of the dates/ages added up, she changed it to getting married.

Nope. She didnt.

ThruUlikeAshortcut · 07/01/2016 20:52

How close are you to Hyde Park? I'll drop him off for you Grin

fidel1ne · 07/01/2016 20:53

There's actually nothing wrong with being a 21 year old mother of a 2yr old and a baby OP.

It is your lies that are attracting the hostile response.

And your rudeness.

All quite unnecessary.

See your doctor FGS.

SKLily · 07/01/2016 20:54

When I saw 17 with a 32 year old I wasn't mindful of they meant I had my child then, just simply that I was with him then which isn't true and I corrected that to 18. We conceived Christmas was I was 19 (well over the holidays haha)

I'd look into the the website mentioned above as a temporary measure, and in the meantime think you should get a full health MOT to address your tiredenss issues.
Honestly, there are few things nicer than chatting about random nonsense with a LO on the school run. I'm sure that if you could get mornings sorted for yourself you'll reap the rewards in terms of getting out of the house, spending time with your tot and getting to know other parents at the nursery/school.

SKLily · 07/01/2016 20:58

I was just touchy about someone implying my husband was with me when I was 17, which is illegal and I got a bit defensive. Sorry I misread and lept to a conclusion

OP posts:
RudeElf · 07/01/2016 20:58

SK i think thru was joking but you seem a bit too keen on that idea! Please dont just accept any strangers' offers to take your son to school FGS!

Figwin · 07/01/2016 21:01

Seriously, private doctor. Pay for every test they recommend and get an answer.

Also enviable of how much money your Mr makes working from home at 36/37

fidel1ne · 07/01/2016 21:02

It's not illegal.

Figwin · 07/01/2016 21:02

17 is lethal in the UK

ijustwannadance · 07/01/2016 21:02

17 is not illegal

Figwin · 07/01/2016 21:02

LEGAL!
