dd1 just started reception and is only girl in class of 10. lovely school and she is doing very well in class, however we know that she doesnt always get joined in at playtime as boys are playing "boys games" so ends up playing by herself or with girls in nursery class. She doesnt seem too bothered but should we be????

is it a boys prep school predominantly?

I think it might be a bit odd as time goes on to be so unbalanced

I take it there's only one reception class?

I wouldn't be overly concerned (esp if she's not)but if I were you, I would speak to the teacher about possibly buddying her up with some Yr1 girls, just so she's not left to her own devices too much.

huw - yes only one reception class

poirot - yes prdominantly boys prep school - reception and nursery on one site, year one onwards at the main school.

We think its ok for now but we think that by age 6/7 she should have girls to play with...dont know wehter to move her but she is pretty happy there.
