Can we swap school just before start of new school

hi all,
can we swap school just before atart of new school like this month.We haven't paid any term fee yet just the deposit to secure a place.

Any private school will want a terms' notice to leave, so you will owe fees for the next term anyway if you give notice now. Otherwise yes of course you can move, but not without paying that term's fees.

as above - yes but you'll have to pay the first term's fees in lieu of notice.

I think sometimes if you don't actually start then you just lose your deposit. It's worth checking your contract or with the school now.

I had to pay a full terms fees in lieu of notice plus I lost my deposit & that was with us telling them at May half term she wouldn't be starting in September.

Almost all private schools require a full term notice.

A friend of mine's DD got offered a place at an Outstanding State school in August. She had to forgo the deposit and one term's fees, but felt she was saving after that and it was worth it (she also sold the unused uniform to someone else second hand).
