Food allergies, how do you do the birthday parties?

My ds has multiple food allergies. He is in yr2, but never had proper parties. He can't have eggs, wheat, milk etc.

In the past, he was invited to the parties, but recently, he was excluded from his class mate's party. Only reason I can think of is that we never invited them back!

So this year, we really want to have his party. Any ideas please!?

Have just read your OP and realised your DS is only in Y2. From my experience food is only a very minor attraction for DC at that age! The guests undoubtedly won't notice if the food happens to be dairy/gluten free. I found that only the sausages and crisps all went! DS had a friend who was allergic to eggs and dairy and she managed to make a cake (using a vegan recipe I think) which was lovely and went down well with all guests.

Thank you everyone!
I feel a lot more confident now.
I wish I knew MN long time ago!!!

I agree with the others, just do stuff he can eat and the other kids won't notice. My ss can't have eggs or nuts so mod baked things are out, but he's fine with dairy so his "came" is a revolting ice cream cake from the supermarket. The kids love it! Jelly and some sweets like marshmallows are good for baking-averse allergies. It helps to develop your cooking skills as an allergy parent as it helps you identify what foods actually contain and develop alternatives. When he is invited to parties the parents are usually aware; I leave them with his epipen etc, and go through what good is there with him so he knows what he can and can't have. He's used to it now, it's his "normal", and it's no big deal most of the time
