In a pickle with ks2 SATS and ill child- advice needed by those in the know

Dd is ill and starting to think may not be able to go in Mon. Thinking she'll need to be isolated on return to do it but is doing level 6s each afternoon and I'll be involved in the tests in the school I work in so it won't be possible.

So what do I do?

What would be best for her?Dose her up and get her to crawl in whatever or keep her off and I'm guessing she won't be able to do either at all. Do I need to declare the fact I'll have seen the papers even though obviously I wouldn't do anything?

Help, need to get a plan in place to avoid stress Mon morning.

I'd send her in dosed up on Calpol with a note to say feeling unwell for the record. It's better than any future suggestion that you might have passed on the contents of the tests to your DD especially if she does very well.

My DD is sick as well; just assumed I'd have to give her calpol and send her in. Partially because it's a cold, not v & d, so unpleasant but not the end of the world. She has a temp but calpol will bring it down so she's dealing with a runny nose, sore throat.

Figured she'd do the test, come home and rest. But will talk to the head in the morning.

It's tricky as your job complicates things rather. Can you speak to your head tonight?

Brightbluebells · 10/05/2015 21:09

I do consider myself to be a dedicated head but I really wouldn't parents to be phoning me on a Sunday night when I am clearly very busy on Mumsnet! I would think that it can probably wait until the morning.

Don't worry, won't be ringing tonight of in the morning.SmileDd will be a bit poorly but honestly think I'd send her anyway if she is the same as she is now in the morning( fingers crossed). It's only a test and now thinking the extra hassle for both of us isn't worth her just getting through it with a streaming cold and Calpol. I know I sound a bit harsh.Blush

I actually think it's sensible all round. Bit different if she had D&V but for a cold it's OK.
