Please support our campaign to stop the sale of our school playing field!!!

Please help to save our Primary School playing field by signing the petition at www.playingfields.org.uk.

Last year, Northamptonshire County Council (NCC) announced the decision to change the structure of education provision in our area. As a result of the decision, Oundle Primary School will expand from its current Reception to Year 4 provision to Reception to Year 6 school (as directed by NCC) and will move location to the current site of Oundle and Kings Cliffe Middle School.

NCC promised us at the time that they would provide funding to see through the change. That funding is no longer available and we are facing the sale of c50% of our school playing field and a reduction in the overall footprint of 23%.

Our children deserve an outdoor pace fit for purpose, where they learn and play and even discover a talent for sport. I would really appreciate any support you could offer and ask that you sign our petition.

Generally, it's sad to see schools left without playing fields, but if I've 'read' the picture right - you are surely still left with masses of playing field here. Am I missing something ?

I WONDER IF THIS IS AN 'APRIL 1ST' THREAD !!!

Sadly this isn't an April fools. We have underestimated our picture because we didn't to come back to us to say we had run campaign on misinformation. The amount of playing field left really is not big and by selling the land, the council will be completely land locking the site and there will not be room for further expansion of the school. There are an additional 450 homes being built in the next 6 years...

My two children go to this school, as did I, and its a beautiful green space where the children and the community can play sports and have fun outdoors.

Is this a whole school Literacy event? Make sure you reveal the truth before the end of the day or we will complain to the Governors.
