what percentage of school get judged as outstanding?

It depends on how you wish to look at the figures. Under previous Ofsted inspection frameworks the level of outstanding schools was higher than now. Most of these schools will still be deemed outstanding having not had another inspection. I believe that the figure previously was about 20%.

Under the current framework and looking at inspections from September 2014, you can get figures from various websites, so for primary schools to be inspected 9.4% were outstanding. 65% good, 23% requires improvement and 3% inadequate. For secondary school inspections 9% were outstanding, 40% good, 36% were requires improvement and 9% were inadequate.

Sorry figure for secondary schools who are inadequate the % is 14% not 9%
