If I'm dumb enough to become secretary or treasurer for the school PTA --

what's REALLY involved? Got onto a preschool committee once and that was a nightmare. PTA looks a lot easier, but will it be?

Have a look at the link started by unquiet dad. The more people, the better on the PTA, in whatever capacity. I don't think it would be dumb at all

Secretary or treasurer, not TOO bad, but don't even think of being chair unless you need a full time job!
