We are having to relocate to the cambridge/ bury st edmunds area due to work commitments in the next 3 months. We have never been there so no nothing about the area. Can any one recommend areas/villages to live, schools (independent or state). We were thinking Newmarket, from the map, as it is half way between the too - but is that to far to get to the cambridge schools?
We have been recommend the Perse School but are we likely to get a place mid year?

Wickham - you are going to be spoilt for choice.

Cambridge has the Leys, the Perse, St. Faiths, St Mary's and a plethora more - nightmare traffic.

Newmarket has tonnes of independent schools - too. Only ever driven through.

Bury has Culford, Moreton Hall, South Lee amongst others. A lot of the state primaries and middle schools have good reputations.

Cambridge, Newmarket and Bury all have advantages and beautiful places to live. I have friends happily ensconced in all three places.

Happy home hunting.
