We visited St Bede's and B Coll earlier this year for our 2 who are of similar age. Liked the direction Bede's is going in, still small and personal but very ambitious for their children. Yr 2 DD thought work was easy on taster day but atmosphere friendly and teaching staff nice. Yr 6 boy liked the staff but less sure on peer group.

B Coll is run by an excellent head and undoubtedly gets top quality staff. However they are very selective, and will put a lot of pressure on your child to succeed and they will deselect if standards slip, so it wouldn't have suited both my DC. They loved the head but not the facilities or the peer group so much.

Important to stress, I for one don't believe in "which is the best school" per se but I do believe in "which is the best school for your child". Ask lots of questions, let your child spend time in the school, note the difference between open days v taster days, chat to other parents at pick up etc.

Good luck!
