DS#1 loves cricket. He's been going to a club for 3 years and inspite of being in the top group and us being told how good he was he hasn't played in a match yet - was once selected and then deselected again so very disheartened. We suspect there's a bit of an old boys network that DH doesn't belong to. We suggested he move to another club that is better but he wouldn't go because he didn't want anyone to think he was leaving in a huff. But not happy

Now our head is a trainer for the junior county cricket team but we don't have a school team until Yr6 so we didn't think DS would have crossed his radar yet. But yesterday the head stopped me in the playground on the way home and handed me some free tickets for Somerset V Surrey at the weekend. I think that is really amazing and I could have hugged him when I saw DS's face.....
