DD broke her arm, novo virus and has been late 4 times this year (all before register is closed and we live 5 miles from the school so traffic/accidents/stuck behind a tractor!)

Meeting with the head, class teacher and EWO.

Overboard or not?

A primary child with attendance below 95% will automatically trigger all sorts of interventions, particularly as current thinking is that it is too late by the time they are in secondary school, or attendance is below 92%

I would very much advice against some of the flippant responses advocated on this thread. You could just be reported further up the chain if you come across as hostile or difficult.

Ok, this thread was longer than i realised. Pantone, I see you have already refused to atend.

that is unfortunate.

The attendance figure really is past the trigger point, and your reasons for absence might be acceptable, your reasons for lateness certainly are not.

Please do cooperate. This will remain on your child's educational records. Worst case scenario is a ss investigation into your child's persistent lateness, and your attitude to the school.

I would suggest contacting the school again and apologising, saying that you realise your original response was unnecessarily defensive, and you are prepared to cooperate with the school on this issue.

We went to the meeting : deputy head was a nasty stonewalling management zombie, only concerned with percentages.
I got her to sign my form : we attended!
Lots of crazy hypocritical policies, lots of refusal to take responsibility.
Hateful.

Who was refusing to take responsibility for what?
