Entry at 10+ City of London, Boys

HI,
Thinking of getting DS to take the entrance test in Jan 2015. I understand the tests are quite difficult, but hoping for the best as DS is quite bright, at least in Maths.
Could any of you mums out there give me some pointers, what to look out for- what is the best study material.. any help would be appreciated!

We'll my DS just got a place to start in sept 2015 at 10+ And really proud. He is generally a bright and confident child and did well at the CE and even asked for his marks when he was not selected for an academic scholarship and was quite happy with them. He tried out for the sports scholarship and he got it, so very pleased. He also did Trinity school for boys in South London as a form of practiced advised by a friend who has 2 boys in Clsb and also because the exam is on a Saturday prior to Clsb, and son found the exams harder than that of Clsb which was also reflected in his marks. I just thought it was his thought, but read on one of the forums another parent who mentioned that her son found Trinity's exams harder. my DS was also offered a place in Trinity but of course went for City as it was the preference.
In terms if getting ready, we only decided on the 10 + option end of September 2013. The first thing I did was to find someone who had kids there and talk to them about the school and how are boys found the exams.
My DS is in a prep school and is doing well, but had to still focus a lot on English, particularly comprehension, vocabulary such as antonyms and synonyms etc, creative writing. In respect of verbal reasoning I used a set of books and video links to learn the techniques, and maths just followed the topics that City expected him to know. Then the last month before the exam I printed all 10+ past questions for all the schools for maths and English and he was doing 2-3 a day while they were being timed, marking it and correcting, and ft even repeating them again. ( it was tough for me as a parent).
The interview my son found tricky, as he was asked questions in maths which I guess he did not know, then asked to read a passage and answer some questions, then was asked some general questions.

what books did you use Ology with the video links.

We too are considering the 10+. Is anyone who has a son already there, or who has just passed the test, prepared to share NC levels or CAT scores, so that we have an idea that we are on the right track?

Any advice greatly appreciated.
