Scotts Park Primary school and St Josephs Primary School, Bromlwy

Just in the process of applying for Bromley primaries now for Sept 14 and I was wondering if anyone on here has their children at either of these schools and has any views, positive or negative about either? I have visited both, and other schools, but opinions from parents are always best I think rather than just what you see on a visit.

As you can see, I work at the above school. It is safe to say there is much anger amongst the staff at the moment. We keep getting crap Ofsted reports due to our head. At a recent staff meeting we were told we were 'crap' and the school is in the 'worst shape ever since I (head teacher) joined.' Morale is low. Two of the new staff who joined in September have left already, and the head libelled them in letters to parents. I've been here a few years now, but I've had enough. Even the much loved deputy buggered off last Summer!
As for sending your child here, yes, it's a nice middle class primary, albeit one with a dysfunctional leadership and high staff turnover.

Gosh, scotts, I am so sorry I have only just seen your post! I ended up making my application anyway so stopped looking for responses but, still I see you only replied two days after my post so not sure how I managed to miss that!

I am so sorry to hear about how bad things are there, and I hope they improve soon (although I guess they won't without a change of Head by the sound of it).

Also a bit scary for us as it is a likely contender for DD to be allocated as it is very close to where we live.

Such a shame because at the Open Day it seemed as if the school was so warm and the children very happy. The buddying system which was described for younger children sounded like a lovely idea too. Just goes to show how little you can tell from an Open Day!

As a parent I wouldn't worry too much; the school is a good place to send your child, but a very challenging and intimidating environment in which to work.
