10:10's Solar Schools project: how to help your DCs' school raise money and save on energy bills

Hello

Fancy asking your DCs' school whether it could sign up to the Solar Schools project?

As some of you may know, Mumsnet has been a supporter of the 10:10 climate campaign for some years now, and for the last couple of years we've been helping them with their Solar Schools project.

In a nutshell, this is a scheme whereby schools are supported to raise sufficient funds to install solar panels. In the long run, the idea is that this helps them save on energy bills, and even raise funds (by selling any excess energy created).

The scheme is now looking for new applicants - so if you'd like to ask your school to think about getting involved, please have a look here for more information and a template letter to send to the headteacher.

Thanks
MNHQ
