Anyone with experience of either Highbury Quandrant or Newington Green primary schools in Islington?

Just wondered whether anyone had DC there? I liked both schools when visiting but don't know anyone with DC there, as they all seem to go to schools where I've not got a snowball's chance in hell of DS getting into (Grasmere, Gillespie, Canonbury etc).

I liked the overall feel of Highbury Quadrant and they've got an outstanding Ofsted, but was disappointed that there was no sign of the Head during our tour, so no idea what she's like.

Any views?

No firsthand knowledge but most schools will have a Winter Fair of some sort before Xmas. Try to find out when and take DC there - will be a good chance to chat to existing parents (don't be worried about just approaching people in the queue for muller wine, "does your LO go here, which year group, how are they finding it" etc), see how your DC reacts / takes to the place. Might even get to meet the Head. Good luck.
