Primary school places for kids who just relocated from overseas

Hi everyone,

Just recently moved to the UK from overseas and need advice concerning school places for a soon to be 5 year old in November and a 7 year old. I am yet to apply for a school places as still living at a relative's but getting accommodation is proving a tad difficult and might be stuck with relative for a while. I want to rent a place.

Can I apply for school with relative's address and what are the chances of getting school places in the Ockendon area of Essex? I hope this would not be a problem especially when I eventually get a place of my own to move to. I do not want to give anyone the impression that I just used the relative's place to secure school places.

I am open to most schools in the area. I would hate for them to be at home for too long as they were in school prior to relocation. What are the good schools in the area? I am open to all suggestions.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks Tiggytape for your reply. I feel better already. I would definitely be sending off the applications after the bank holiday. Other suggestions concerning primary schools in the South Ockendon area are welcome.
