Spelling help - any alternatives to apples and pears?

I really like apples and pears but my son hates it. I can usually persuade him to do it but would like an alternative as well ideally with a handwriting element. He's y5 a good reader but poor handwriting and spelling. He's seen an OT and has some exercises and we are trying to teach him touch typing too as he sometimes uses a laptop for writing at school.
He is mid way through the 2nd apples and pears book but will still get words like usually, should, going and showing wrong. Its mostly phonologically plausible.

Hi - my DD isn't a fan by any means but it is working for us. We incentivize with a trip to the toy store when we finish a book. She goes and looks at stuff she might like and then we remind her she's one lesson closer to the clay model kit or whatever she's her eye on. Nothing massive £12 limit. It helps keep her going on the bad days. our school recommends Toe by Toe but I think it's dry beyond words.

Thanks, we already have a financial reward scheme but I will try rejigging it to see if it helps.

wherethebeach - Toe by Toe is a reading intervention, not spelling.

There isn't anything as good as A&P.

The alternatives are:
Word wasp
Hornet literacy primer
Stareway to spelling
Read write inc spelling

But none of them are as good as A&P.

Why don't you buy him a whiteboard. And make your own lesson up from the A&P book, but get him to do all his writing on the whiteboard.
