Good primary schools in Islington/Hackney around Newington Green?

Hi,
I live around Newington Green and am struggling to find a good primary school that I am in the catchment area for. Any suggestions?

If we didn't get into the chosen school at reception, would we have a better chance in year 1?

Many thanks

Yes I believe so! Gist of the post was that m/cs tended to go for the faith schools in the area

All I know of Highbury Quadrant is that is has an Outstanding Ofsted (not that this is the be all and end all obviously but they are clearly doing something right), and that it's close to Newington Green but in Islington not Hackney thus possibly not on the OP's immediate radar. However as a community school admitting on distance the fact that the OP lives in another borough should not matter with regards to chances of getting a place. No idea how MC or not it may be and no first or even second hand knowledge as I don't happen to know anyone who's kids go there, sorry. IME one gets a good vibe for a school by visiting. If a morning off work for a school tour not feasible (this was particularly hard for me as I was working but eventually got to visit enough schools easily whilst on mat leave with DC2), at least one can drop by the Summer Fair to get a feel...
