We are in the process of relocating from Greenwich to Bedford. I have the forms I need to complete but have spoken to both Councils do I need to call my school and let them know or do I just wait for the Council to do this?
Also what if our sale is delayed for any reason, I will have given up my son's school place from X date, what if they fill it with a waiting list pupil (or even if they don't) can he just go back to the school? I have asked both Councils and neither seem to know the answer helpfully - surely they must come across this all the time??
Obviously I don't want him to be at home and if the sale is delayed it would be helpful for him to go back to school! Not least because I'll be knee deep in packing boxes.
We are hoping to coincide the move with the Easter hols, so he would finish school before Easter and then start at his new school sometime the week after the Easter hols (anyone know the rule around when he has to start. We don't want to move and him have to start a new school the following day before we practically have the lorry unloaded)! Do they do soft starts etc?
