School trips and pocket money/spending money

Hello everyone

My DS is going on his first ever school day trip in April.

All the children are allowed to take a little spending money. This money is to be their responsibility entirely.

I think this is great but I worry about the money being lost - what are the options for him keeping it safe?

Pocket with a zip?

I suppose it depends on how old he is. And how much money.

A small wallet ( named) which fits into a zipped hoody or jacket pocket or inside his backpack. Maybe some separate coins in a plastic Coin bag popped into his lunch box in case the wallet does get dropped/left somewhere.

How old is he? At my DCs school when in primary, certainly in early years had to hand in named wallet/purse/envelope/ which was held by group leader and given out when they got to the souvenir shop/cafe or whatever and then given back in when they were done.
