Hallfield & Paddington Green Primary Schools in Westminster ... advice please?

I'm afraid I'm a foreigner who thought she'd be back in her homeland before schooling became an issue here... so now I'm trying to navigate the minefield of primary school applications. Hallfield Primary is one of our local schools. Oftset rates it as satisfactory - which doesn't seem as good as it could be in this area, but on the other hand, it had 84% level 4+ and 33% level 5s in the recently published BBC report, which is better than a lot of the Good schools - including Paddington Green which is Good, but got 50% and 5%. Can anyone give me advice, please? I haven't seen the schools ( we've just moved house, plus right now I'm out of the country). Have you got kids there? What's your feedback? Am I wrong to be giving such weighting to the Ofsted reports (what should i be looking at?). TIA

I very vaguely know those schools and would think the Paddington Green school is getting a good to reflect decent effort with a difficult intake. Whereas Hallfield is probably doing no better than should be expected with an easier intake.

FWIW I would look at Hallfield. Ofsted doesn't tell you everything but reading between the lines, I would say that Ofsted are trying to recognise difficulties at PG that Hallfield doesn't have.

I hope that's fair. I only vaguely know those schools so hesitate to say too much. Best way is to go and see them. I went round all our shortlisted schools and was amazed at the difference in atmosphere and vibe from one to another.

Thanks ... going to do my best to see them before mid January; at the moment all I can go on is paperwork and advice... but its information like yours that is so helpful (i had no idea re intakes etc).
