We live in Canary Wharf and our DD is about to start primary school. We've looked at River House Montessori, The Gower School, Colfe's School and Gatehouse. We thought Gatehouse seemed like to much of a hothouse -- but we could have just visited on a bad day.
We saw The River House School in E14, but we don't know of anyone who went there and were a bit put off by the lack of green space. The Gower School seemed to have an approach we really liked (good academics but not a hothouse)...but again my DH is put off by the lack of facilities. We have also seen Colfe's, but we were surprised by the academic work on display - it seemed far behind the Gower School.
Does anyone have experience of any of these schools? Ideally, we're looking for a co-ed school with strong academics (but not too pressurised) and good extra-curricular programmes. Any suggestions/advice would be much appreciated!! I am usually very laid back about these things...but I've become a neurotic mess worrying about the impact of putting our DD in the wrong school!
