and forever be known as the pushy parent?!
DS, in his 3rd week of reception
He is very boisterous, borderline hyperactive, and I really want to know how they are dealing with his behaviour.
Do they need any input from me, or do I just trust that they are the professionals and know how to deal with difficult children.
Yes, pfb!!

We get no feedback at pickup, conscious of not getting in the way when all the other children are coming out.

They have said they are very open to appts or quick chat(appt only)

If it is a concern as for five minutes of their time after school. Don't save anything for parents evening. I think you'll be shocked when you see that the allocation is about five or ten mins MAX at parents evenings - they really want to do all the talking in a fairly rehearsed format. Although I would also imagine that if your teachers were finding your son a handful that they felt challenging they'd have flagged this up to you. I'm sure he's not their first challenging boy or boisterous boy though. And usually they are pretty good at keeping activities rotating and short so that those kids are kept busy and challenged all the time in between lots of out outside play time to run off/roar off their energy

I would ask for a quick chat if it will put your mind at rest.

Although they will say something to you if he is disruptive....

I'd pop my head in with a smile and ask how he's getting on.

Just grab a couple of minutes of time at pick up or drop off- drop off used to be easier for us. Just ask how he's doing, kids can be very different in a Reception class, maybe he is a quiet, subdued child- you never know!
