Parents of new Reception starters: are you having a quiet weekend? Are you tired?

My DD started school last week and she's zonked! She always was tired from nursery but the new routine, etc has left her very tired.

We were planning a day out today as a treat, and the weather is gorgeous, but have canned it in favour of a quiet day at home. She just needs a day of chilling out and some TV, poor thing.

I'm also shattered after a week of a different drop-off/pick-up time every day during the induction days. Our old routine has changed totally. And the effort of remembering all the stuff they have to take...am sure it will be second-nature soon, but could do without the added stress of DH eating the fruit I had planned for her to take as her snack each day!

I've also been trying to walk to and from school (not every day but most) and flipping heck, my legs hurt! DD rides on the buggy board so she's ok.

Come and share your trials and tribulations, and reassure me you're all as knackered as we are!

My one is only doing half days for a couple of weeks, but we are taking it easy ish too. Not looking forward to when he starts full days.

Ds2 started last thurs, so has just finished his fuul week and is zonked!! we are having a quiet weekend, but have lots of visitors/parties over the next few weekends, so I hope he will cope!!

My morning routine hasnt really changed as I still drop off/collect at teh childminders, but the days I dont work now involve lots of walks up and back to school as ds2 finishes at lunchtime and then its back at 3.15 for ds1!!

Oh, and ds1 has h.work so our peaceful wkends are shattered by the joy of getting him to write!

I am shattered going to school and back 3 times a day. oh well next wweek will be full time so only the 2 school runs... but ds will be hell in compensation...

Nice to know it's not just us!

DD has been so quiet today. Only the odd little burst of energy.

We normally have a battle on our hands at bedtimes, but every night this week she has gone to bed on time.

I suppose a bonus has been that, with all these walks, 12mo DS has had some amazingly long naps, staying asleep once I get home and allowing me to get on with all sorts.

Not sure how I'll manage once the school walks have to be done in the rain or cold...

Dd started reception on the 4th. I expected a totally knackered child.
What I have is a child with Chicken Pox.
She's not tired but is thoroughly pissed off.
